“The Swan Princess: A Royal Family Tale” is a story of good versus evil. The Evil Art Force came to Earth by way of a forbidden force and a crystal is his home. But there is a legend that a swan princess will be born and all her good will destroy it or him. The Evil Art Force alters the legend that is written on a stone so all the creatures will believe that the princess is evil.
The princess is born and the evil force is very worried and collects some flying squirrels to help him in his quest to rid the world of the princess. Those that are around her know the truth regarding her kindness. She is unaware of the legend and goes about her life doing good until a child that she rescued is abducted. The Swan Princess must save the young girl and the rest of her family from the Evil Art force. This story is an intriguing one about the charming Swan Princess and I have never read this tale before. There are talking animals, a group of flying squirrels that help the Evil Art Force in his quest, poison darts and a kidnapping. The story also tells of the love and kindness the Princess has for family and friends, plus the lengths she would go to in order to protect them.Since there are some scenes that may be frightening for very young children we award this film the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages 12+.
