Jake and his mom move from Chicago to the coast to live with his grandfather. Their life has not been easy after the death of Jake’s father. Now they are starting over but Jake feels he does not fit into this surfing community. When his grandfather, Lou, offers to teach Jake how to surf, it changes his life and at the same time, he learns some great things about his grandfather.

Here is a story about starting over and the importance of believing in one’s self. There are many lessons that can be applied to everyone’s life from this charming tale. It is wise to never quit on dreams because you may grow to regret it. That is the theme of this film.
