Dove Review

The new “X-Men” movie, “Days of Future Past”, is action packed and features time travel to 1973 as well as seeing characters such as Magneto and Professor X in both versions of their younger and older selves. The viewer gets to see President Nixon, Washington, old TV sets and it might produce a nostalgia factor for some. In a comical scene, someone needs to be found and the phone book is suggested which is rather funny for people who use the computer a lot these days. The plot twists and turns a lot, regarding characters trying to prevent Jennifer Lawrence’s character, Raven/Mystique, from assassinating a man that in the future will cause great hardship for the mutants.

Despite some good themes-such as the young can mature and develop and change for the better, it should be noted there are a lot of scenes featuring comic-book type violence. The movie features a few strong utterances of language in addition to rear male nudity and we are therefore unable to award “X-Men: Days of Future Past” our Dove Seal for family friendly viewing.
