Back to the Jurassic
Ernie, his little sister Julia, and his best friend Max accidentally start up a time machine while playing in Max’s inventor father’s workshop and find themselves transported back in time 65 million years, where they are adopted by doting dinosaur mom Tyra (Melanie Griffith) and a rambunctious dinosaur “brother” named Dodger (Rob Schneider). The three kids explore the excitement of the prehistoric world while, back in the present, Max’s dad and Ernie and Julia’s overprotective mom (Jane Lynch) plot their rescue. If they ever wish to make it back home, they must steer clear of their evil dinosaur rivals (William and Stephen Baldwin) and rely on the help of their “mother” and Dodger—after all, family isn’t always just the one you’re born into!
Most children at some point in their lives love dinosaurs and think they are very interesting. Ernie and Max, along with Ernie’s little sister, find themselves back in time when they accidentally spill pop on the controls of Max’s dad’s time machine. The adventure that Ernie has always wanted is finally real and he is not willing to go back right away. But now the trio has to find a way to return and it may not be easy.Tyra thinks she is a new mom because her egg hatched and the three children are the result, so she is protecting them from any danger that may come their way. In the meantime, Max’s dad and Ernie and Julia’s mom are busy building a new machine so they can go find their children. But they also receive a surprise when Tyra’s real egg hatches and now they have to find a way to return the little fellow back millions of years. This is a fun, entertaining movie that the entire family can enjoy. It includes a few lessons about listening to your parents, thinking of others over yourself, and that family is family no matter if they look different. The Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages is awarded to this wonderful animated movie.
