Dove Review

The word that comes to mind regarding this movie is “Wow,” but not in a good way. It is difficult to believe how violent this film is. In one concerning and brutal scene, people kill one another in church—seriously. The people stab one another, punch and shoot one another, one man has a pole jabbed through his head and body, and the blood pours. The audience in the theater grew silent, as if they couldn’t comprehend it either. The plot is based on a madman named Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) who is using a card he gave away to control people; he is the one behind the massive killing in the church. He has also placed implants in people. But before the massacre, a fanatical preacher is railing against those he calls, “Fag lovers, Jews, and Niggers.” He uses “Catholic whore” as well. The church sign says, “America is Doomed.” If writers/producers were trying to portray conservative people as haters, and in my opinion they were, then they sure took care of them with love by having them all murdered in church! To add to the goriness, heads literally explode off bodies and people are sliced in half. Oh yeah, that is fun to watch. Not.

Sadly, this movie features real talent such as Colin Firth, Michael Caine and the previously mentioned Samuel L. Jackson. But the writers inserted the “F” word in just about every other sentence, and the film is loaded with profanities and obscenities including “GD.” It also contains full rear female nudity with a sexual connotation. Fantasy or not, this movie will appall anyone who attends hoping for something family friendly. Trust us; this one doesn’t come close. No Dove seal for family-friendly viewing for this movie.
