The Apostles After Jesus takes an interesting approach in telling the Apostles’ stories. The film, at a leisurely three-hour runtime, places us in the middle of the action, suggesting that we, ourselves, are the listeners of the stories. The production values also seem to take us back to Jesus’ time in an archaic, minimalist way. The result is a very inclusive film, and for those needing a brushing-up on Christ’s stories and teachings, this film does so in a more unique way.
The content of The Apostles After Jesus is mostly appropriate, but the pacing and filmmaking itself prove too trying for audiences that are too young. For adults, however, the film makes for a good lessons in storytelling and listening to these special teachings. Dove is proud to award The Apostles After Jesus with approval for Ages 12+.
