Eyes Wide Shut

A rich, attractive, over-indulgent couple have it all together until she, high on pot, describes an extra-marital fantasy. The husband, no exalter of fidelity himself, stalks off looking for sexual revenge. Will he find it with a kind-hearted hooker, an underage daughter of a merchant who is pimping her, or the secret and very exclusive ritualistic sado/masochistic club he sneaks his way into?

There is no misuse of God's name, but there is much use of one particular four-letter word; explicit sexual situations, including graphic nudity; violence, including the threat of murder and the sight of a dead body in a morgue; adultery is committed. The film is peopled with sad, voyeuristic, and non-spiritual characters, and a script with all the depressive, loveless dementia of a Druid initiation. Like pornography, some films deceptively "take" while maintaining the illusion of "giving."
