As a party trick, an unlicensed hypnotist puts Tom Witzky (Kevin Bacon) under a spell. A post-hypnotic suggestion, however, causes Tom to become a receiver for otherworldly transmissions that turn his life into a nightmare. It seems someone in another dimension is trying to get Tom to discover the culprits of a murder victim buried in his backyard.
