What a Girl Wants

Based on the 1958 film, "The Reluctant Debutante," this comedy is about Daphne Reynolds (Amanda Bynes), a teenage girl who grows up without her father. Her mother (Kelly Preston), a wedding singer, left her husband, British lord Henry Dashwood (Colin Firth), before Daphne was born. Daphne runs away from home and goes to England in search of her father. When she finds him, he is in the middle of a campaign for Prime Minister and is engaged to be married. Dashwood’s political career is shaken when he discovers the daughter he never knew he had. Daphne must make a choice between conforming to the conservative lifestyle of her father and being true to her spirited independence.
