My Cousin Vinny – Edited

In this must-see comedy hit, two carefree pals traveling through Alabama are mistakenly arrested and charged with murder. Fortunately, one of them has a lawyer friend in the family -- Vincent Gambini (Joe Pesci), a former auto mechanic from Brooklyn who has never been in court -- or in Alabama. When cousin Vinny arrives with his leather-clad girlfriend (Marisa Tomei in her Oscar - winning Supporting Actress performance) to handle his first case, it's a real shock - for him and the Deep South! Dove Review

The edited version of My Cousin Vinny is a delight to watch. The chemistry between Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei is incredible. I love the way they talk to each other. Also the Judge played by Fred Gwynne is priceless as he forces Pesci to conform to the procedures and dress code of his court. The writing by Dale Launer is fabulous. The storyline is original and flows effortlessly. While I would not watch the origianl version because of all the F-words Pesci utters, this edited version is a completly different film in my opinion without all the foul language. Dove could not approve the original version of My Cousin Vinny mainly due to the offensive obscene language, but can award this edited version the Dove Family-Edited Seal. With the edits, this originally R-rated film has been edited down to what I would consider PG and is a film the entire family can enjoy over and over again. I think this is one of the most cleverly written films in a long time. I rate this edited film as a must see and a great addition to anyone’s film library.
