Americas Sweethearts – Edited

Comedian Billy Crystal co-wrote and co-stars in this acidly told tale about a separated, bickering movie-star couple [Catherine Zeta Jones and John Cusack] who "make nice" for the cameras at a press junket promoting their new movie together. Julia Roberts is Zeta-Jone's sister and assistant who harbors a major crush on the oblivious Cusack. And Crystal's the press agent who must mediate between the warring parties.

Dove Review

There are movies I’ve seen that I call “fluff pieces”, and this is one of them. Although this can be given a Dove approval, it certainly doesn’t register as good viewing, in my opinion, except for people wanting to enroll in the University of Self Absorption. If so, they’d have a master’s degree by the end of the film. Billy Crystal’s a funny man, but his talents are wasted in this see-through thin plot. America’s Sweethearts? No, I don’t think so! The editing was good because all the obscene and profane words have been removed.
