There are some good laughs in this movie, because good comedy is real-life but exaggerated. The chemistry between the lead characters, Clooney and Zeta-Jones, lights up the screen from their first encounter. I call movies of this genre fluff pieces: good for mindless viewing and a few laughs. The antics women go through to ensure financial security are revealing. The message is made clear that dollars don’t fill the void inside every human being. There is a redeeming scene, so to speak, when the two realize that love is real and not a commodity to be traded in mega bucks divorce settlements. I can’t recommend this movie for anything other than what I’ve already stated: mindless escape viewing. Not recommended for young children.
