Rowan Atkinson’s humor is an acquired taste. Most people either really like him or they don’t. In this spy spoof, he plays a bumbling secret agent much as Peter Sellers played the inept Inspector in the Pink Panther films. I for one think Peter Sellers was a genius at it where Atkinson tries hard but falls a bit short of, admittedly, a very high bar. Like the Pink Panther Inspector, Johnny English keeps messing up but always seems to fall on his feet. This is great family fare and you will find yourself laughing in parts.
