Synopsis

Christopher Columbus struggled for many years to achieve his dream to expand the horizons of his world by sailing west across the great ocean, while everyone else insisted on sailing east. His grave determination and faith secured the support of Queen Isabella of Spain, but his faith was tested even up to the last minute before his great discovery. Christopher Columbus realized his dream, and America was discovered!

Dove Review

The Animated Heroes series is a wonderful learning tool for children to learn more about history. The animation is done well and the story of Christopher Columbus is told accurately. The film followed Christopher’s life from a child to the point where he discovered the new land. The “Animated Hero Classics” version of Christopher Columbus was very educational and kept the interest of not only myself but my young children. The DVD does a great job in presenting his life and showing the highs and lows of his adventures. At one point in the film they even show Christopher praying and asking God for his help to find land. Christopher had a dream and stuck with it. Although others did not believe in him he kept his faith and did not give up and as a result he had a wonderful outcome. This film would be a wonderful teaching tool for schools to use in the classroom or for home schooling families.

If you are looking for a wholesome educational yet interesting film I highly recommend this one and the other stories form “The Animated Heroes Classics series”. You will not be disappointed. This is easily approved by Dove for all ages.
