Synopsis

Four Episodes on one DVD. Elijah – Ruth – Samson – Jephthah. An Israeli team of filmmakers traveled back in time to bring you this series of insightfully honest interviews. Laugh and learn as you watch first hand eyewitness accounts from those who shared their lifetimes with some of the most inspiring heroes of the Scriptures.

Dove Review

This is a different and interesting approach to a biblical DVD. Four biblical heroes are featured, namely Samson, Jephthah, Elijah and Ruth. In the four segments various biblical and historical characters discuss the famous character, naming the highlights and achievements of the person, and in a few cases naming the challenges that were faced as well. The speakers speak in Hebrew but the narration is in English. The characters are appropriately dressed for the time period.

Although it was interesting, we don’t see the actual biblical figures discussed or any action scenes. A few comments are made about wine and wars which were fought, in addition to people who were killed but nothing is graphically or gratuitously related. The film is appropriate for all ages but the very young would find it slow going. For the rest of the family, this is a nice DVD with four biographies which are actually very entertaining. We happily award this DVD our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal.
