When NYPD officer Paul (Tracy Morgan) wants to play “bad cop” for a change as he interrogates a suspect, his partner Jimmy (Bruce Willis) thinks it’s a bad idea but lets him do it. Paul then promptly charges into the room and grabs the suspect, pulling a gun on him, and he throws him several of his favorite movie lines in order to intimidate the suspect. “I have the death system on twelve systems!” he says. “I’ve got nowhere else to go!” he says and they just keep pouring from him.
He and Willis do make a fairly good comical pair and the humor is played to the hilt. Unfortunately, there is a ton of language in the movie with almost every expletive imaginable and a few gruesome violent moments such as a bullet striking a bad guy in the head. In addition, there are several sexual slangs that are used, frank sexual comments and innuendos. When it came to this film, “Cop Out”, we would have liked to have been “in” on awarding it our Dove Seal, but we are definitely “out.”
