This is a powerful story about a man who puts God first even when it appears to be crazy to other people, including his wife. Daniel Carr (Dominick Shaw) finds himself in a mess when his wife makes fun of him as he watches Christian TV, and on top of this he struggles to pay his bills and has to explain to his boss why he is continually late for work. The problem is his wife Christy is making it difficult for him to get to work on time and then blames him when he points it out. When Daniel refuses to sell a lot his father left to him and decides to build a cross on the lot, because “God told me to” his wife really believes he is losing it! On top of this, she begins having an affair with a married man.
However, Daniel sticks to his guns with the help of Pastor Mahoney (Emmy-award winning actor Gary Burghoff) and soon he learns what happens when a man waits on God.
The story is powerful and real-life troubles are portrayed. We are recommending the film for ages twelve plus due to the mature themes and a wife cheating on her husband, however things turn around by film’s end and this movie is ultimately about God’s forgiveness and second chances. It also includes the theme of loving your spouse during the hard times. The film features a wonderful song by a child called, “Daddy, God Smiles Down on You.” We are pleased to award this film our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal.
