Three high school students make an incredible discovery, leading to their developing uncanny powers beyond their understanding. As they learn to control their abilities and use them to their advantage, their lives start to spin out of control, and their darker sides begin to take over.
This film was one of the most violent movies I’ve seen with a PG-13 rating. The action is non-stop as three boys find a mystical crystal in a hole which gives them special powers. As they stretch the limits of what their new powers can do, they also learn that they must try to control their new abilities. It doesn’t last long; the boys eventually throw baseballs at each other leaving broken and bleeding noses all around. Ultimately, the film is supposed to be about how difficult it would be for people to control their anger and lust for power. However, it winds up showing us all just how far a filmmaker will go to put as much gratuitous content as they can in a PG-13 film. The gross language and excessive violence alone are enough for us to say that this is not a movie I would want my teenage boys to see.
