Here is another terrific DVD in the “Monster Truck” series. This one is titled “Monster Truck Adventures: Revd Up and Ready”.
The first episode is titled “Here Comes the Crushmeister” and is about Meteor promising his friends to get tickets to see Crushmeister. Instead he plays with his friends after school and is too late when he finally goes to buy the tickets. They are sold out. But Meteor must move forward and Philippians 1:6 reminds us that God, who began a good work in us, will carry it out to completion. In the next episode, “Meteor in Charge”, Meteor and his friends work together on a project but then Meteor begins to boss his friends around. Junkboy and the others become upset with him. Meteor admits his mistake to Big Wheelie. Proverbs 11:14 states where there is no guidance a people falls but where there are many counselors there is safety. Meteor learns that everyone is needed on a project.
In episode three, “Try, Try Again” Meteor almost gives up on a goal more than once but Big Wheelie keeps after him to practice and to “try again”. Philippians 4:13 reminds us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” In episode four, “Grandpa Was a Moonrover” Meteor’s grandpa visits and he enjoys telling stories. Meteor is embarrassed of his grandpa, believing him to be slow and just wanting to tell stories. He disrespects him. Meteor finds that his friends want to hear Grandpa’s stories and Grandpa regains the dignity which he deserves. Matthew 7:12 is featured, the golden rule which states we should treat others the way we want to be treated.
In episode five, “Meteor’s Nightmare”, Meteor can’t shake the bad dream and believes LT is out to hurt him. Big Wheelie reminds Meteor that a dream is not real. LT actually saves Meteor from falling into a ditch. 1 Corinthians 14:33 is mentioned, that God is not a God of confusion but of peace. Finally, in episode six, “The Backwards Race”, Meteor discovers his camera gives him an unfair advantage over the others in a race so he doesn’t practice but relies on the camera. He doesn’t win and Big Wheelie reminds him that there is no substitute for hard work. Luke 6:40 reminds us that we are not above the teacher as students and that hard work is what works.
