This movie makes a point that each person’s own story is…well, each person’s own story! Jeremy Irons plays an old man who experienced the ups and downs of life during and following World War ll in Paris. An American soldier, he falls in love with a French girl named Celia and marries her and they have a daughter. They are very happy but a tragedy spoils it and soon the young soldier deals with his pain by writing a novel about the experience.
Years later Rory Jansen, a struggling writer in New York, comes across an old manuscript and is fascinated by it. Presenting the book as his own work, it is published and one of his own genuine works follows. The first published book makes a name for Rory and he is adored by his wife Dora and many others. However, one day an old man in the park sits on a bench next to Rory and soon Rory comes to know the true author of the book he published as his own.
This is an interesting story but unfortunately very strong language spoils it for family viewing.
