Dove Review
If you believe in holiday miracles, this is the movie for you! Glenn Barrows (played by the likable Dean Cain) misses his deceased wife, which we learn in the first scene as he watches an old home movie taken at Christmas. He has two great kids, Elliot (Jet Jurgensmeyer) and Phoebe (Meyrick Murphy), who are as energetic as can be and have big hearts. They miss Mom, too. When a local bakery worker named Dani Downy (Kristy Swanson) sets her sights on Glenn, the kids see right through her ulterior motives. She is a bit of a gold digger.
A beautiful young woman named Kate (Haylie Duff) gives the kids a dog named Belle as a present, but Dani hates the dog immediately, partly because she has allergies. She concocts a plot to swipe Belle and take her to the local dog pound. When Belle comes up missing, the kids become detectives of a sort, enlisting the help of friends Riley and Malcolm to solve the problem of the missing Belle. When they attempt to rescue Belle, they have a lot to overcome to make the dramatic rescue a reality. A warm family-friendly film, A BELLE FOR CHRISTMAS will be a perfect holiday watch for you and your family. It has earned our Dove Family-Approved Seal for all ages. The kids misbehave a bit, but rest assured that Dad corrects them.
