Finding Neverland – Edited

Johnny Depp plays JM Barrie playwright in London circa 1903. All of the events in this movie are based on a true story. JM Barrie is the writer of the play Peter Pan. Well, around 1903, JM is writing plays that the public really doesn't respond well to. He is lacking good ideas, and decides to go to the park to find inspiration. Barrie has an incredibly vivid imagination and so you would think that he wouldn't have problems thinking of a story. Then along come four kids playing around in the park and they bump into Barrie and they all start talking and he meets their mom Sylvia. The six of them spend nearly every day together and Barrie begins to fashion a play about the kids and Sylvia. The play is finished and it is a huge success at the playhouse. But Sylvia, who the character of Wendy was created for, is dying of Tuberculosis and cannot attend the play. So Barrie builds the setting of Neverland in her huge backyard, where the six of them used to play, so that she can live in neverland forever.

Dove Review

This was definitely the most wholesome, entertaining, and enjoyable movie that I have ever seen. It told a story of creativity, compassion, and complete selflessness while still remaining simple and childlike. It’s the story of the man who wrote Peter Pan and how he got all of his ideas from a lady he met at the park one day and from her four children. They all fashion a relationship and eventually became inseparable. There was no foul language in this movie, nor was there any violence, nudity, sex, or drugs. This was the most entertaining and wholesome movie ever made that can be enjoyed by parents, young adults, grandparents, and children at the same time. Watch it over and over again.
