This was a typical Family dog movie with sensitive themes including love and pain. There are a lot of heartfelt moments in this film and enough funny moments to keep it interesting. This is a movie that is great for the whole family. The content in this movie is wholesome. The only caution that I would give the viewer is when (Frank) the dog gets hit by a car.
When a fearless boy (Ashton Dierks) goes out searching for a monster he discovers Frank and they instantly hit it off. The whole family wants to keep him except the father and believe me this does not set well with the mother or the kids for that matter. You will enjoy seeing the transformation of this family and the lessons they learn along the way.
As you watch the movie you will be drawn into the plot. Frank attempts to do good deeds for the father (Jon Gries) to get on his good side but then turns around and makes a mistake such as slobbering all over the computer. Overall I believe this is a very loving story with many family values to be seen such as a family sticking together no matter what, and caring for a stray animal. It also illustrates how much hard work you have to put into being an animal owner. Therefore we award our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal to this film for all ages.
