Jack and the Beanstalk

A fairy tale character who is about to flunk out of fairy tale school, Jack must perform a heroic deed by Monday or fail miserably, just like his father before him. Anxious to make good, Jack sells his C.O.W. (Computer of Wonder) for a handful of magic beans and a mysterious book that records his adventures as he's having them. Accompanied by his sidekick Grayson -- a goose who ate a bean and underwent an amazing transformation -- Jack climbs the magic beanstalk to recover the fabled Harp of Destiny from the evil giant who lives in the sky.

Dove Review

Here is a comical story of Jack, who attends the school for fairy tale characters, is failing school so the teacher gives him a special assignment for the weekend to prove his heroic qualities. This a different twist on the old fairy tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. As Jack sets out to prove he can be a hero, he finds out some things about himself and what the true meaning of being a hero means.

The moral is a lesson of teamwork and that the importance of who you are is what makes a person a hero. This is a charming fairy tale with encouraging values and colorful characters who will entertain the entire family. We award this version of “Jack and the Beanstalk” the Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for all ages.
