Kay and Arnold are having intimacy problems and Kay seeks the advice of a marriage counselor played by Steve Carrell. During their sessions, the counselor talks openly about Kay and Arnold’s sex lives including what acts they engage in and if she fantasizes and masturbates. Each day of the therapy, he asks them to partake in a specific task in the hope that he can get them out of their comfort zones and re-engage in their relationship.
As you might imagine, there are a great many sexually charged scenes and explicit dialog which places this film far outside the family-friendly realm. While the characters are likable and loving to one another, this film is certainly geared toward a much more mature audience than those seeking wholesome entertainment.
