Peter Jackson has made another memorable movie. “The Hobbit” is filmed in the same vein as the other Lord of the Rings pics. That said, the book from which he based this movie was far kinder and gentler than what we see here. The battle scenes are more graphic than the book portrayed. The story has also been broken up into three separate films. Had he made one or two movies, he could have stayed truer to the book which was written for pre-teen or early teenage children. It’s too bad because the movie was well made and the special effects are very well done.
