Beautiful aerial shots of the tropics will have you planning your next vacation and the steel drum and lap steel guitar music will make you want to dance. This story of love slowly evolving as two people work together towards a goal, but for different reasons, will keep you glued to the screen, wishing for those reasons to blend and lead to a happiness of the heart. A lovely movie for your entire family shot in beautiful Miami, and Dove-approved for all ages.
Lorelei (Alanna Smith), graphic designer, is excited to help her best friend, Grace (Lisa Miranda) launch the first advertising campaign for Blue Panda. But when she receives a letter informing her of her great uncle’s death and the inheritance of his sailboat, Lorelei must drop everything and present herself in person to claim the boat.
Unexpectedly, Lorelei is offered partnership in the Firm just as she announces she needs to leave for St. Aquilla to take care of the inheritance. She is warned that her probation starts NOW and she better get back as soon as possible … many others would jump at such an offer.
Arriving at St. Aquilla Island marina, Lorelei is aghast to discover the sailboat is in terrible condition and is not anywhere near sailable or sellable! As she contemplates her next move, she is summoned by her boss, Evan Howe (Chris Mimikos) to check out the list of companies that need rebranding strategies right now and Lorelei is feeling the pressure. She needs to bring the boat back to its somewhat previous condition, sail it to Miami, make a quick sale, and get back to the Firm. But alas, there are no sailboat mechanics available on short notice … but Celeste (Alina Alcantara) owner of the Sun and Moon Café knows someone and will send him by in the morning …
Lorelei is relieved to see Rob Alexander (Travis Bravo-Thomas), a long-time friend of her uncle, arrive and announce he is not only a captain, but also a mechanic. But when parts will take at least a month to arrive, Lorelei is frantic. When Grace phones to warn Lorelei that rumors are flying the partnership will be awarded to someone else, Lorelei is helpless to do anything about it … the boat is far from being ready. But, as she and Rob work towards repairing the boat for sail to Miami, little sparks are igniting, and they are both beginning to rethink their dreams.
As they make their way towards Miami, Rob keeps repeating that Lorelei needs to be sure that partnership and lots of compromise, is what she really wants. Lorelei retaliates with cutting words to remind Rob he is not exactly fulfilling his dream, either. Raw emotions and clashing ideas bring the search for personal happiness to the surface. Lorelei and Rob realize they must overcome their ingrained fears and learn to trust themselves and each other.
The Dove Take
Try to live with no regrets and cherish your deep-rooted feelings… you and your life partner may not agree on everything but you can find a way to work it out with that important person you would rather weather those infrequent bad times with, than spend your life with anyone else.
